Fire damages Thunderbird Heights home; cat unaccounted for, family displaced

A fire broke out Monday afternoon in the Thunderbird Heights neighborhood.

According to the Anchorage Fire Department, at around 2 p.m., a resident returned home to find smoke and flames coming from a downstairs bedroom. They safely exited and called 9-1-1.
