ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The state trooper who shot and killed a Wasilla man who had barricaded himself inside a motorhome bathroom earlier this year was cleared by the state Thursday.
The Office of Special Prosecutions stated that Trooper Nicholas Blanchard was “legally justified” in using deadly force in its review into the events surrounding the Aug. 8 incident. Blanchard has been with the force for one year.
The shooting left 32-year-old Charles Hedgers dead.
