APD: 3 Friday homicides prompt increased weekend patrols

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Three people died in separate homicides Friday evening in Anchorage, according to police, prompting authorities to increase weekend patrols across the city.

Police responded to the first incident at 6:51 p.m. in the 2000 block of Fiddlehead Place, where they found a woman with trauma to the upper body from an apparent stabbing, according to the department’s press release. Paramedics rushed the woman to the hospital, where she was declared deceased, police said.

The second incident occurred at 8:21 p.m. at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Cordova Street, police reported. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a man and woman already deceased at the scene, according to the department…
