Anchorage, AK – The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Anchorage and the Lower Matanuska Valley, in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday, as thick fog combines with below-freezing temperatures to create dangerous travel conditions across the region.
Meteorologists report visibility reduced to one-quarter mile or less, especially across west Anchorage, Eagle River, Birchwood, Chugiak, and along the Glenn Highway near the Parks/Glenn interchange and Knik River Bridge.
According to the Weather Service, frost may form on bridges and overpasses, producing slick spots during the morning commute. Drivers are urged to slow down, use headlights, and increase following distance while fog persists…
