‘A hug through food’: Wasilla restaurant offers free meals to people impacted by government shutdown

WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) – With federal funding for SNAP, commonly known as food stamps, lapsing as of November 1, Triple A’s Soulfood in Wasilla is offering free lunch for those in need.

“A lot of families are depending on their benefits to come,” Triple A’s Soulfood Owner Symone Stewart said. “We want to be those people that can be a little bit of help and hope.”
