ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Alaska’s official State Medallion went on sale Friday at the Alaska Mint with Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom striking one of the first coins.
Alaska Mint owner Mike Robuck said in the 20+ years the Alaska Mint has been producing the medallions, they’ve become big collector’s items.
“They are limited edition where we only make a few hundred or a few thousand in a given year so there aren’t that many out there,” Robuck said. “And it makes them more special.”…
