Team Rubicon continues debris removal & emergency home repairs in Tuntutuliak

In response to the devastation of Typhoon Halong nearly a month ago, Team Rubicon volunteers—known as Greyshirts—are providing storm debris removal and basic home repair in Tuntutuliak, distributing donations in Bethel, and managing the statewide donation system in Anchorage.

Team Rubicon has been responding to disasters in Alaska since 2012 and has Greyshirts all over the state, from Ketchikan to Kenai and Southcentral to Nome. Alaskan Greyshirts, joined by over a dozen more from the Lower 48 and Canada, have been serving the survivors of Typhoon Halong since the storm struck.

Team Rubicon continues to work with tribal, state, local, and federal organizations and local Alaskan nonprofits across the state to best coordinate the multi-pronged, statewide operation and transfer long-term responsibilities to Alaskan partner organizations and state agencies when and where appropriate…
