Age-Friendly Anchorage is a volunteer-driven initiative sponsored by AARP Alaska, committed to creating a community where everyone—regardless of age or ability—can live, work, play, and thrive. Anchorage is part of AARP’s national Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities (NAFSC), a group of cities across the country, all working to build a more age-friendly world for Americans of all ages.
Many communities in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities – including Anchorage – use the eight domains of livability to guide their efforts and set priorities for making life better for people of all ages.
