ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – In the choir room of an Anchorage high school, young pianist Joshua Kao hammers away vigorously on a baby grand piano.
The high school junior is preparing to compete in the Northwest Division of the Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA) Senior Piano Competition. To qualify for the divisional round, Kao, won the Alaska State competition the weekend prior.
