ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage firefighters responded Tuesday evening to a house fire on Hideaway Lake Drive, where crews say the homeowner escaped and two dogs were rescued, as flames spread through the lower levels of the home.
The call came in at 6:02 p.m. according to the Anchorage Fire Department. AFD said firefighters arrived within minutes and found the house burning on a hillside with no hydrants nearby. A tender operation was reportedly set up between Service High School and the scene to supply water.
According to AFD, the homeowner made it out safely and initially attempted to free two black Labradors stuck inside. AFD was able to rescue the dogs.
Firefighters remained on the scene late into the evening. No injuries have been reported…
