Big Ray’s, Xtratuf donate winter gear to Alaskan families in need

Big Ray’s and Xtratuf are helping Alaskan families stay warm this winter by donating hundreds of items to GCI’s ongoing winter gear drive. Together, the two businesses contributed 300 pairs of kids’ ankle boots, along with high-visibility coats and hats.

All of the collected gear will be shipped to communities along Western Alaska, including Bethel, where families are still recovering from last month’s devastating typhoon.

Jessica Rostad of Big Ray’s says the effort highlights the spirit of the Alaskan community. “This is really an example of how Alaska comes together as a community. It’s just a small thing that we could do to get people back on their feet and hopefully get them the gear they need to get through the winter and the next year to come.”…
