Wasilla man, mother arrested after high-speed chase, harboring investigation

Wasilla police arrested a man and his mother early Thursday morning after a high-speed chase and a harboring investigation.

Alaska State Troopers responded around 3:20 a.m. to a 911 call from a woman on Beaver Avenue saying she was not safe. The suspect, 36-year-old Arnold Holmberg of Wasilla, had three outstanding warrants.

Holmberg fled in a vehicle, leading troopers on a high-speed pursuit exceeding 100 miles per hour. He abandoned the vehicle near his parents’ home on Wilmington Drive and hid in a crawlspace…
