ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Food Bank of Alaska’s Thanksgiving Blessing is taking place at various Anchorage locations on Monday.
From 2 to 7 p.m., families will be able to receive a free frozen turkey and groceries to complete a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Households must visit their designated donation site in their zip code and bring zip code proof.
During last year’s event, the Food Bank of Alaska had enough food to feed 12,000 people. Yet, the need seen last year was greater. Last year, some sites were forced to close an hour early due to running out of food.
