ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A 51-year-old Anchorage man already serving a 20-year sentence was given another 20 years for running a drug trafficking organization responsible for moving more than eight kilograms of illegal drugs throughout Alaska, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska.
Rodney Godwin was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in May to one count of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Godwin led the organization between April and December 2023 while under indictment for a separate drug trafficking case.
The group imported and distributed roughly 3.8 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.6 kilograms of cocaine and 1.3 kilograms of heroin. Investigators also seized multiple firearms tied to the operation…
