ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Frosted in a layer of icing, the iconic gingerbread village is back on display at the Captain Cook Hotel in downtown Anchorage.
On Wednesday, students and staff from the University of Alaska-Anchorage (UAA) and the Hotel Captain Cook’s pastry program began setting up the display. The theme this year is Christmas Town.
“It’s kind of a play on Rudolph and Santa,” Kellie Puff, a UAA Culinary Arts Associate Professor, said. “We make it like a day in the life of Santa Claus. So, we have Santa’s house and his garage and then there is the elf workshop, the toy workshop.”…
