The holiday weekend got a little longer for students in the Anchorage School District thanks to Mother Nature.
Freezing rain over the weekend made roads slick across Anchorage and parts of the Mat-Su Valley, prompting the district to close schools on Monday. Meanwhile, the Mat-Su Borough School District implemented a two-hour delay.
Despite the icy conditions, many drivers said the roads weren’t too difficult to navigate. “Well, a little bit dicey on the side roads and the neighborhood streets, but the main road seemed pretty good,” said Anchorage resident Guy Brousseau…
