1st graders brighten Anchorage airport officers’ day with cards, stuffed animals

Police and fire crews at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport got a heartwarming surprise this week — thanks to some thoughtful first graders.

Kindergarten and first-grade students at Anchor Lutheran School chose the ANC Airport Police and Fire Department for their latest service project — and their gesture is warming hearts across the terminal.

The kids created handmade cards and drawings filled with encouraging messages and colorful artwork for officers. They also donated a collection of stuffed animals to be given to children who might need extra comfort during difficult moments at the airport…
