On December 9, 2025, Anchorage Police Department officers tried to arrest 31-year-old Jeremiah Talai, who had two outstanding felony warrants. After a vehicle chase near the 4300 block of Cope St., Talai left his vehicle and ran away after a crash involving a patrol car and two parked vehicles.
Officers used a drone and a police dog, K9 Ray, to find Talai hiding in a backyard near the 1000 block of W. Tudor Rd. Talai did not follow police commands. K9 Ray apprehended him, and officers took him into custody. Talai received medical attention for a dog bite before being booked at the Anchorage Correctional Complex.
