ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – First Alert Weather Days took over Saturday and Sunday for the second weekend in a row of hurricane force winds in Southcentral and heavy snowfall to Southeast. The biggest impacts are expected tonight with lingering impacts starting the work week on Monday.
The Matanuska Valley and Thompson Pass remain under a High Wind Warning through Monday afternoon as lingering wind gusts are expected for Monday. The strongest winds across the region were recorded in Palmer today at 83 miles per hour, with gusts near 70 across Anchorage. Valdez wind gusts were near 60 miles per hour today, having weakened quite a bit from the recorded 77 miles per hour gusts on Saturday. Clear skies continue through the region with strong winds still expected up to 70 mile per hour through Monday.
