Historic winds recorded in Southcentral as extreme snow piles up in Southeast

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – It’s never a dull moment for Alaska weather as the second weekend in a row of extreme winds barreled through Southcentral.

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport tied the previous record for strongest wind gusts Monday morning with a 75 mph recording around 9 a.m.

For the second time in just over a week, Palmer recorded wind gusts over 90 mph with the peak wind gusts topping out at 93 mph…
