Anchorage Assembly approves five resolutions to boost fire department, safety

The Anchorage Assembly unanimously approved five key resolutions last night to support the Anchorage Fire Department and strengthen community safety.

Officials say the resolutions will provide funding and guidance for wildfire protection, fire prevention, emergency staffing, and community support programs.

Among the actions taken, AR 2025-393 dedicates over $820,000 in grant funds to the Anchorage Fire Department’s Wildfire Program, protecting approximately 49 acres of high-risk wildland-urban interface areas.
