New Fireweed Flats project will add 24 workforce housing units in Anchorage

More housing for working families is coming to Midtown Anchorage, with the Anchorage Community Development Authority announcing a new project.

The project, called Fireweed Flats, will add 24 workforce housing units on Fireweed Lane. The units are designed for residents who earn 80 to 120 percent of the area’s average income, providing more affordable options for people who live and work in Anchorage.

According to Mike Robbins, Executive Director of ACDA, Midtown is an ideal location: “Midtown needs workforce housing. It’s on the bus routes, so it’s easy for people to work and get to work and live here. It’s very accessible.”…
