Alaska psychiatrist arraigned on 16 felony counts in Medicaid fraud scheme

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A Behavior Health Psychiatrist contracted to provide services at multiple Alaska medical facilities has been charged with an extensive fraud scheme that allegedly defrauded the state’s Medicaid program of nearly $190,000, according to criminal charges filed in Alaska’s Third Judicial District Court in September 2025.

Lina Judith Bautista, 69, appeared over the phone in court on Tuesday for an arraignment. She is currently not in custody.

She faces 16 felony counts, including first-degree theft, scheme to defraud, falsifying business records, and multiple counts of medical assistance fraud spanning the period from October 2018 through June 2022.
