ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – At the Anchorage Airport finding a spot close to the terminal can be challenging even though the parking garage has over a thousand spaces. On many days nearly all of them are full.
One thing that’s taking up parking space in the wintertime is snow. Long term parking at the South terminal has 45 spaces devoted to snow storage. Short term parking at the North Terminal, as well as the top floor of the parking garage at the South Terminal, also have dedicated snow storage that take up parking spaces.
Something else that is taking up space at the airport are Turos: private vehicles that are available for rent. The airport doesn’t track how many Turos are parked at the airport at any given time, but the Turo website lists over 100 cars available for rent at the Anchorage Airport…
