ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Firefighters extinguished a blaze at an abandoned Anchorage home late Tuesday morning after smoke was reported coming from the boarded-up structure, according to the Anchorage Fire Department.
A motorist along Ingra Street reported the blaze at about 11:40 a.m. When crews arrived, firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the home.
At the time of inspection, fire officials determined no one was inside of the home. However, investigators believe someone had attempted to start a fire in an old fireplace in the building, but failed to contain the flames.
