ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan has entered its final days, giving cross-country skier Gus Schumacher one final attempt to bring a gold medal to the Last Frontier in 2026.
If Schumacher — a 2018 Service High School grad from Anchorage — takes gold in the men’s team sprint freestyle final, it will be the first gold for the Americans since fellow Anchorage skier Kikkan Randall won in the same event in 2018.
