NEW PHOTOS: Efforts to clean up Doyon 26 continue to progress

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Crews continue to make progress deconstructing the Doyon 26 rig that toppled over on the North Slope in January as it remains in Phase two of three in the response process, the Unified Command said.

The Unified Command is made up of representatives from Doyon Drilling, Inc., the EPA, DEC, the North Slope Borough, and the Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope.

Crews have removed 54% of the rig as of March 6, the Unified Command said. That’s up from about 47% as of February 27.
