ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – After a joyous start to the party at the Iditarod 54 ceremonial start, it’s time for the mushers to get serious.
Dog teams are officially on the trail of the 2026 Iditarod, with sleds departing Willow Lake for the race’s official restart Sunday at 2 p.m.
From there, man and K-9 alike are now tasked with a near 1,000-mile journey toward Nome, set to finish under the burled arch along the western coast in the coming weeks…
