Members of the Taku-Campbell Community Council are pushing back against the planned closure of Campbell STEM Elementary.
In a 37–0 vote, the council passed a resolution asking the Anchorage School District to reconsider its decision and urging the Anchorage Assembly to vote “no” on ordinance AO 2026, which would fund the district’s operating budget for the 2026–2027 school year.
Community members say the district moved too quickly and did not give families enough time to provide feedback…
