Alaska DOT proposes median barrier on Fifth Avenue to reduce pedestrian deaths

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A stretch of Fifth Avenue is one of the most dangerous in the state for pedestrians. The Alaska Department of Transportation is hoping to change that with a federally funded median barrier.

Receiving aid from the Federal Highway administration’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, Alaska DOT began working on the project four years ago.
