Police chief describes ‘chaotic and dangerous’ scene in deadly police standoff

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case described in greater detail the confusion and uncertainty officers faced in an officer-involved shooting and house fire that left a man dead last weekend in south Anchorage at a press conference Thursday morning.

“The circumstances that the officers faced were tense, they were uncertain, and they were rapidly evolving,” he said.

The shooting occurred as officers were actively involved in a standoff with 43-year-old Micah Bonin, a man who police say broke the glass in a second-story window in his Shore Circle home and allegedly fired at both police and neighbors, according to eyewitness accounts taken by APD…
