YMCA celebrates Easter weekend with ‘Eggstravaganza in the Pool’

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Families in Anchorage had a chance for some submerged pre-Easter fun Saturday at the YMCA of Alaska Lake Otis pool.

YMCA workers, dressed in a variety of Easter-related costumes, gathered kids together on the edge of the pool before tossing about 1,500 Easter eggs containing various prizes into the water. They could later be exchanged for treats.

“It was great,” YMCA of Alaska Aquatics Director Amanda Hanley said of the community reception to the first-time event. “It was overwhelmingly positive. The numbers that we saw was just crazy.”…
