‘CANstruction’ teams bring visions to life with cans as their canvass

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Dimond Center in Anchorage transformed into a dragon’s den Friday.

Nine teams representing various engineering firms throughout the city took to their designated “CANstruction” zones to construct large sculptures out of cans and boxes of soon-to-be-donated food.

The event has taken place 17 times since its inception in 2008, according to Leo Artola, food donation coordinator for Anchorage Food Bank, and continually serves a valuable purpose for the group…
