DEXTER, MI – A major road project in Downtown Dexter will install a roundabout with dedicated turn lanes near the town’s infamous rail underpass, but the ongoing construction work is vexing local business owners.
The intersection of Main Street, Chelsea-Dexter Road and Island Lake Road closed May 4 as work began on a roundabout that will connect the three roads with the entrance to The Pelham, a 28-unit luxury condominium development currently under construction.
On Thursday, crews could be seen using heavy equipment to resurface the roundabout as semitrailers hauled material to and from the site on Main Street.
