University of Michigan expected to eliminate Sparrow Health System name

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The corporate entity of Sparrow Health System is expected to be officially absorbed into University of Michigan Health.

An item on the agenda for the University of Michigan Regents Thursday meeting recommends dissolving the corporate entity. The item asks the board to approve the dissolution.

The move was expected and will have “no impact on hospital operations or clinical care,” University of Michigan Health – Sparrow spokesperson John Foren told 6 News. He said it will also not impact jobs.
