Kyle Whittingham has really packed a recruiting punch in his first year with the Wolverines. Not only has Whittingham built a Top 10 2027 recruiting class, but he did so without a single five-star recruit and has excelled with out-of-state recruiting.
Whittingham has always been an elite recruiter; he just didn’t have the resources at Utah. Now at Michigan, Whittingham has a massive war chest and is using it to his advantage. One of the biggest wins for Whittingham as of late was the commitment from four-star cornerback Monsanna Torbert Jr., an Ohio native who chose Michigan over Ohio State in a heated recruiting battle.
Now, Whittingham could be on the trail of bringing another Ohio native over the state lines to Michigan with 2028 four-star running back Cartae Ligon. The Chillicothe, Ohio native has reportedly already made a few trips to Ann Arbor, and is clearly loving everything the Wolverines have to offer…
