Brighton road project on track to finish before school year begins

BRIGHTON, MI – The city of Brighton says work on the South Seventh Street road construction project is progressing on schedule, with final paving anticipated before students return to school after Labor Day.

Water main and storm sewer work has been completed, and crews have removed and replaced damaged curb sections, according to the city of Brighton’s Facebook page. Roadbed grading is currently underway, with base paving scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Sidewalk work is set to continue after the base paving is finished. The city noted that while the road may be open to traffic before all work is finished, manhole collars will still need to be installed after final paving is complete. The construction schedule remains weather permitting…
