The Ann Arbor Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Tomukun Noodle Bar on 505 East Liberty St. between Thompson Street and Maynard Street at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. In a post to Facebook, the AAFD wrote the fire appeared to originate from a trash can in the restaurant’s kitchen, where it spread to the kitchen hood system and then to the roof of the building.
AAFD wrote that smoke from the fire and water from putting it out affected neighboring businesses lab cafe and Tomukun Korean BBQ.
“Due to quick work by firefighters, fire damage was limited to the single restaurant,” the statement read. “However, smoke and water spread to both the Lab Cafe and Tomukun Korean BBQ, which will be closed until evaluated by the Washtenaw County Health Dept.”…
