Here’s what you need to know about Ann Arbor’s new criminal background check law

ANN ARBOR, MI – People with criminal records now have a new law on their side when applying for jobs with city-hired contractors in Ann Arbor. City Council voted 9-0 Monday, Jan. 22, to give final approval to changes to the city’s non-discrimination ordinance to give people returning to society from jail or prison a fair shot at jobs with contractors hired to do work for the city.
