NORTHVILLE (WWJ) – The Great Lakes Water Authority said crews have dewatered the break site off a 30-inch main transmission line in Northville that ruptured early Friday morning and now additional work to asses what is needed for repairs is underway.
The GLWA provided a Saturday update on work to address what city officials called a “massive” break in a 30-inch water transmission main on Baseline Road between Novi Street and Oakland Avenue in the city of Northville.
Residents were advised to use their water sparingly as the break is causing low water pressure in Northville and Northville Township.
The rupture occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, the GLWA said, with crews dispatched to the scene to isolate the break by closing to valves on the main, which is made of prestressed concrete cylinder pipe.
