TAYLOR (WWJ) — A 73-year-old Taylor man is facing a long list of felony charges, including attempted murder, for allegedly opening fire on Taylor police officers during a standoff last week.
Rick Good was charged Monday with six counts of assault with intent to murder, seven counts of felony firearm and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from an incident that began around 2 p.m. on Jan. 22 when Taylor police officers were called to a home on Polk, near Goddard and Allen Roads, on reports of shots fired.
When officers showed up they found Good armed with a shotgun, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
After a standoff with officers, Good allegedly came out of the home and fired the shotgun at officers, who returned fire, hitting him in the stomach.
Good was taken to the hospital to be treated. No officers were injured.
Good was given a $500,000 cash bond at Monday’s arraignment and was ordered to wear a GPS tether. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 5.
