17-story Ann Arbor high-rise fails to get commission’s support, now on to council

ANN ARBOR, MI – A proposed high-rise at 711 Church St. in Ann Arbor is headed to City Council for consideration with city planning officials recommending denial. The Planning Commission voted 5-2 Tuesday night, Feb. 6, to recommend council reject what’s described as a 17-story development outside the downtown zone that would include 273 apartments with over 1,000 bedrooms and contribute millions of dollars to the city’s affordable housing fund.
