Jasmine Plavich, a Property Management student at Schoolcraft College, sees Black History Month as an important educational tool. She thinks it provides an opportunity for non-Black people to learn about Black history and culture. As a Black woman, Plavich uses this month to advocate for the Black community and promote diversity.

Plavich lives in Ypsilanti and is a licensed real estate agent and broker. She hopes to work for an international company in operations or acquisitions. She aims to lead a fulfilling life, guided by personal growth and happiness.

She finds inspiration in Whitney Houston, a pioneer in the music industry. Houston’s music continues to inspire people globally, and Plavich draws motivation from her legacy, particularly during Black History Month.

As a non-traditional student working in her chosen field, Plavich finds motivation in quotes that promote positivity and success. One quote she values is from Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., which encourages her to always strive for progress.
