(WWJ) – A professional figure skater from Novi remains hospitalized after a scary incident over the weekend during a Disney on Ice performance in the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Novi native Anastasia Olson, 31, is said to have sustained serious injuries, but is in stable condition in a Minneapolis hospital after she fell during a lift while performing as Belle in Disney on Ice’s rendition of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ on Saturday.
“The skater who portrayed Belle was injured while performing a lift during a pair skating part of the routine and fell. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment,” a spokesperson for Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Disney on Ice, said in a statement to PEOPLE .
Video, which made its way onto Reddit and X, formerly known as Twitter , depicted the unfolding and shocking incident with spectators describing that when Olson fell, she hit her head on the ice and started seizing.
In the video, medical personnel can be seen rushing to her aid. Spectators said the arena lights were dimmed and a medical tent was brought out while Olson received medical care before she was carried away on a stretcher.
