Ann Arbor police looking for knife-wielding suspect who robbed man of phone, wallet while walking through park

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) — The search is on for a knife-wielding suspect who allegedly robbed and injured a man walking through an Ann Arbor park late Tuesday night.

Ann Arbor police officers were called to the 2700 block of Packard Street after a 42-year-old man reported the incident in Rose Park.

The man told police he was walking through the park around 10 p.m. when he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a knife.

The suspect stole the victim’s phone and wallet. Police officials say the victim suffered a minor injury to his head, but declined medical attention. It was not clear whether the suspect used the knife.

The suspect ran from the scene and was last seen headed toward nearby Mary Beth Doyle Park, just south of Rose Park.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
