Ann Arbor’s Hobbs Kessler moves on to Olympic 800-meter run semifinals 15 hours after 1500 finals race

Hobbs Kessler wasn’t give much time to celebrate his best 1500-meter race of his life. The Michigan Olympian still had work the next morning. Kessler placed fifth on Tuesday night in Paris as he was well in the mix of the fastest 1500 meters finals in Olympic history with a personal-best time of 3 minutes, 29.45 seconds. Although it concluded his 1500-meter efforts in fine fashion, the Ann Arbor native’s first Olympic experience was far from over as he was slated to start his 800-meter journey with the opening rounds on late Wednesday morning in Paris.
