Rising 2026 Georgia CB Chauncey Davis talks recent Michigan offer, LaMar Morgan, more

Michigan offered rising 2026 Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett cornerback Chauncey Davis two months ago. Davis is still joyful knowing that the reigning College Football Playoff winners issued formal interest.

“It felt really good because a year ago, I couldn’t ever imagine being in this position, especially getting (offers from) all these strong, good schools,” Davis told The Wolverine . “Especially not a national champion.”

Although Davis continues to learn more about Michigan, he’s well aware of the defensive production the Wolverines have heralded during their historic run.

“I think they’ve done really good,” Davis said. “They play how I like to play. They like to fly around a lot. They get to places as quick as they can. A lot of ballhawks, too.”

Davis believes that U-M clinching its first national title since 1997 was well-earned.

“I think it definitely took a lot of time because I know they’ve been really good for the past couple of years,” Davis said. “I know they definitely deserved it last year. They just had a great brotherhood and great goals for each one of them.”
