Animal in transformer knocks out power for 3K in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, MI — Roughly 3,000 customers were out of power for more than an hour Tuesday after an animal got into electrical equipment. The unknown animal entered a transformer Tuesday in Ann Arbor, causing residents in the northern part of the city to lose electricity around 11 a.m., said Dave Akerly, spokesperson for DTE Energy.
