Now-former church director arrested for hidden camera found in church bathroom

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A now-former member of 2|42 Community Church leadership in Livingston County has been arrested after confessing to placing a hidden camera in a church bathroom, the church announced Saturday night.

According to a statement from the church obtained by 6 News, a staff member discovered a hidden camera in a unisex bathroom in the backstage area of the church’s Brighton location on Friday.

Upon confrontation, the church says former Worship Pastor Director Will Johnson confessed that he was the one who placed it there.

The church says he was “immediately terminated,” and staff proceeded to notify the local authorities, and Johnson was arrested by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office late Friday night.

While the church says there is no indication of additional hidden cameras placed in the facility, they plan to hire a third-party service to search church grounds.

The investigation is ongoing.
