Trinity Health Ann Arbor introduces new ablation platform to treat Atrial Fibrillation

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Trinity Health Ann Arbor announced they completed Michigan’s first ever ablation procedure to treat Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).

Medical workers used the Varipulse Platform, a medical technology approved by the FDA in November 2024. According to Trinity Health, this is the first-of-its-kind procedure in Michigan using pulsed field ablation, and it was successfully performed in April 2025.

What is Varipulse Platform?

Trinity Health Ann Arbor said the Varipulse Platform is a more effective way to correct irregular heartbeats.

Using pulsed field ablation, the tool can precisely target and control the creation of cardiac scars, guided by real-time three-dimensional mapping, blocking the faulty electrical signals that cause AFib.
